Individuals who are not able to lower themselves into or pull themselves out of a chair can gain that ability by using a chair that features a three-position lift option. These chairs enable anyone to sit and relax while spending time alone or with friends and family. The lift chairs offer three unique positions:
Upright positions
Chairs are put into the upright position to allow individuals to lean back in them, and then operate the power controls to move the chair to the desired angle. This eliminates the need for senior citizens or people who have been injured to attempt to go from standing up into a seated position while putting pressure on their knees and back. Once the person leans on the chair, it can be gradually lowered to slowly and naturally bring the user into a sitting position.
When the chair's user wants to get back up again, they simply reverse the controls, and the chair will slowly rise up to the point where it allows the person to get back on their feet. This enables people to stand up without straining or harming themselves in any way. The chair will bring the person to the exact height they need to be at in order to step away from the chair, and it does so in a gentle and smooth motion.
45-degree angle
The 45-degree angle is the most common seated position. It is sometimes referred to as the "television angle," and it is used for sitting to talk with others, watching TV, or enjoying any other daily activity. This is the second and most occupied position for these chairs.
Full recline
The three-position chair has the ability to fully recline. This offers a comfortable and relaxed angle, which is ideal for rest or sleep. These chairs may be purchased in most any type of fabric, so they can be extremely plush and used on a regular basis in place of an actual bed.
Battery backup
For just a little more money, three-position chairs can be purchased with an optional backup power source. This will automatically kick in should the electrical outlet that the chair is plugged into stop working due to a storm or any other outside factor. Many chair users enjoy this option, as it gives them the means to continue to operate the chair even if the power has been temporarily cut off.
Three-position lift chairs have given thousands of people a new opportunity to sit in a standard chair regardless of their physical abilities. They can be designed to fit the decorum of any room and will offer comfort and personal freedom to people who need assistance getting in and out of cushioned chairs.
