Which Power Wheelchair is right for you?

Travel Power Wheelchairs

Travel power wheelchairs are very lightweight and easy to travel with.  These electric wheelchairs weigh less than 100 lbs total and the heaviest piece will not be more than 36.6 lbs on any travel power wheelchair!  In addition, travel power wheelchairs break down so they can easily fit into the trunk of your car.  Some of the popular travel electric wheelchairs include Pride’s Go-Chair and Invacare’s ATM Wheelchair. 

Transportable Power Wheelchairs

Transportable power wheelchairs are also great if you are on the go.  These electric wheelchairs fold so you can transport them and travel with them all the time.  They are slightly heavier than the travel power chairs, but if you are in your wheelchair most of the day, these may be more suitable for you than the travel power wheelchairs.

Standard Power Wheelchairs

Standard power wheelchairs come in different styles; some which cater to indoor use others which are better for outdoor use.  These electric wheelchairs are very luxurious and comfortable; however they do not fold or collapse for travel.  This does not mean that you can not take standard power wheelchairs on a day out with you.  Because you cannot put them in the trunk of your vehicle, you need either a lift or ramp to get them in and out of the vehicle.  Some of the well-known standard power wheelchairs include the Pride Jet’s and Jazzy’s and the Invacare Pronto’s.  These chairs come with many options so that you can choose design the chair that suits your specific needs to a tee!

Heavy Duty Power Wheelchairs
